In Cambodia for the opening of “Hugs in Siem Reap”, an exhibition-fundraiser for Kantha Bopha Children’s Hospitals, ten respected visual artists from Singapore were so taken by the setting at Templation Angkor that they resolved to put their respective vision of it on paper or canvas. By a sunny morning in November, this spontaneous and inspired initiative was offered as a manifestation of friendship and empathy to Victor Ang, the master of colors and forms at the origin of this remarkable manifestation in the Art of Sharing.
The result is a lively collection of styles and techniques, from the subtle watercolor variations by Low Puay Hua or Lee See Sin to the energetic abstraction that made Goh Beng Kwan one of the most famous artists in their country. While each artwork expresses its creator’s own sensibility, all of them reflect the distinctive architecture and the harmony with Nature at the core of Templation character.
